With the new year approaching there are many goals that I have set for myself. Some of the goals that I hope to achieve next year at Aveda is to become a better colorist and hairstylist in general. I love doing color so by setting challenging goals for myself through my color project I hope to gain more knowledge and to become better at doing color.
Another goal that I have made for myself is timing. In the beauty industry time is money and the faster and more efficient you are in the hair business the more money you will make. When I first started at Aveda I knew that I had to not only invest my time, but also my life into Aveda. Although we only have school three days a week we are here for very long hours and you have to invest so much of yourself in order to be successful at Aveda.

So my best advice for future Aveda students is to really make sure that this is what you want to do, because there will be bright sunny days and then there will be days when you might not feel like being here or doing hair, but if you truly love what you are doing no matter the situation you will be able to have success in the hair industry because you love what you do.
I have always loved fashion and the beauty industry. I have my B.S. degree in fashion so when I could not find a job in my field and I grew tired of working jobs that I did not love I knew that it was time for me to get back to my first love, anything that involves fashion or beauty I love. My dream is to be a stylist and now that dream is going to come true thanks to the education that I am receiving here at Aveda and because of my hard work and determination.
I chose to come to Aveda verses the other schools because I knew that I would learn fashion forward hair and for the opportunities that Aveda has to offer. The Aveda network is a very strong large network that is global, so I know that no matter where I end up in life I will be an Aveda graduate and have a network that believes in my talent and will support me in achieving my dreams.
