As Christine wiped the tears from her eyes, I stood behind her thinking to myself, “What have I done!” She wiped the final tear, composed herself, and said, “Buddy, I’ve been getting my hair done for years now, leaving so unsatisfied. I have finally found someone who knows what I want to my hair, and have found my new hairdresser.”

Overcome with joy, I start crying. Why? Because that is the sweetest thing a client has ever told me.

Christine and I met for 5 minutes at a going away party after school one day. I had mentioned I go to Aveda, and gave her a first time guest gift card. She came in for a half head foil, with a few accent foils towards her partings to break up the color.

Christine left that day with the Damage Remedy system, and was on her way to her 21st birthday party that night.

It’s days like today that really make me love my career. It’s an honor to know that I can really change someone’s life.
