“This was one of the toughest shoots I’ve ever been on — the weather was an enormous challenge,” said Antoinette Beenders, Aveda Global Creative Director. “Shooting on lava, we felt the power of the Earth under our feet and above our heads in the swirling rains that periodically passed through. The wind was whipping, and combined with the Mars-type topography, we felt like we were on some kind of blustery adventure in some other world.”
