AVEDA Beauty School Students are equipped with all the tools they need to practice cosmetology. Students are led by educators and practice with quality, naturally derived AVEDA products. They remain connected with their community and share their #AvedaLove with everyone around them. While attending an AVEDA Beauty School, students are often presented with opportunities to practice their craft in editorial shoots and high profile events to build their portfolios with images that capture their talent in cosmetology.
Recently, AVEDA Institute Birmingham helped with a photo shoot at Moss Rock Preserve for a submission to a local magazine. AVEDA graduate Abigail Ksryscuk, alongside Educator Coach Adam Adkins did hair and makeup on models featuring intricate accessories and masks, all locally crafted.
The masks were made by Silver Cicada, whose work has been featured in the show “Once Upon a Time” and Cirque du Soleil. The jewelry, accessories, and headpieces were made by Raven Thrasher, a member of a local belly dancing troupe. The crystal jewelry was made by a former Aveda Institute Birmingham team member Sara Mia. The fashion and production of the photo shoot was brought together by AVEDA Institute South team member and stylist, Erin London. The images were captured by local photographer Edward Badham.
The following images from this photo shoot are a true representation of the beauty our institutes bring together when working with local talent within their communities.
