How my Aveda Education helped shape my career as an Advanced Stylist.

Lydia is a graduate from Aveda Institute Jacksonville and is currently pursuing her dreams in the beauty industry as an Advanced Stylist at Sage Salon.

 Lydia specializes in the hand-painted balayage technique, giving a natural, sun-kissed look to all types of hair.

“I fell in love after learning Aveda’s mission was centered on keeping our environment clean, using naturally derived organic material, and giving back to society by caring for those less fortunate around the world.

I chose Jacksonville Aveda Institute because I found out that Aveda was finally bringing a school closer to where I was living. Enrolling in Aveda would clear the path to becoming an artist. I was also able to learn the business side of the industry. My instructors’ approach and techniques always made it an exciting classroom environment. Which made it an easy learning experience.

With the continuous training Aveda offered, I was able to advance my career. I always look for a new Aveda course to see if I can master the technique taught. This is very beneficial when guests want the newest trends. My goal right now is to enter NAHA and become a Master Stylist/ Aveda Haircolor Purefessional.

My advice to current students is to never get discouraged. Always practice…practice…practice to sharpen your skills. Keep an open mind, and always strive to learn more. Receiving new training will always keep you up to date and competitive. Having a great mentor is a plus.”
