The Aveda Institute is excited to offer a $1,500 scholarship toward tuition for individuals with a professional history history in the hospitality industry who aspire to pursue a career in beauty, wellness and cosmetology. The scholarship is designed for those who have experience in the hospitality field and looking to transition to the beauty and wellness industry. The My Mission of Care Scholarship is designed to support graduating high school seniors from Lee County Public Schools who are passionate about making a positive impact in their communities. Inspired by Aveda’s mission to care for the world we live in, this scholarship encourages students to share how they embody care—whether through sustainability, wellness, beauty, or community service.

Scholarship Award

• Scholarship Amount: $5,000
• Awarded to: Public School Graduating Seniors
• Funds must be used toward tuition at the Aveda Institute in the June 2025 or August 2025 cosmetology class

Eligibility Criteria

Must demonstrate a commitment to care—whether for people, the planet, or their community.

Must be a graduating high school senior.

Submission Guidelines

Applicants can submit their entry in one of the following formats to Pinellas County Public Schools Foundation:

1. Social Media Video Submission (TikTok/Instagram Reels)
   • Create a video (up to 90 seconds) showcasing your mission of care and how you align with Aveda’s values.
   • Video should demonstrate passion for sustainability, beauty, wellness, or community service.
   • Must include the hashtags: #MyMissionOfCare #AvedaInstituteCares
   • Must tag @AvedaInstituteFTM in the caption.
   • Profile must be public for the submission to be seen.
2. Essay Submission
   • Write an essay (500-750 words) answering:
     • What does “care” mean to you?
     • How have you demonstrated care in your community, school, or environment?
     • How do you plan to continue making an impact in the future as a licensed beauty professional?
   • Submit as a PDF or Word document to [email protected] with subject line SCHOLARSHIPS – (county name).
